Cat Boarding
58Cat Kennel
Cat lovers find hard time arranging car boarding their cats. First things first, cats need entirely fresh food and clean water. Secondly, there’s the litter box issue. Until there’s an option for your cats to easily get in/out of its house for using your backyard as a toilet, don’t leave them to the mercy of a litter box, if you’re not there to clean it up. However, some cats are purely indoor animals. Then, you’ll have much more restrictions while deciding on the litter box.
You might also consider buying a self-cleaning box, but that still won’t mean that you are at your liberty to leave the cats for a couple of days. Third, there are chances that the cats will awfully miss you as you’re gone. And cats feeling abandoned are sometimes worse than anything you can remember. And also consider a little something about your cat's ear mites while you will be away. Ear mites, as we know them, are simply parasites found in animal ears. Unfortunately, cats spending much of their time outdoors are highly susceptible to these mites.
When you’re planning to travel and stay out of town and won’t be back in a few days, there are three options concerning cat boarding –
- Hiring a pet-sitter
- Enlisting friends, neighbor, and family member so they stop by each and every day
- Leaving your cats at a local pet boarding facility
Hiring a reliable pet-sitter
First things first, this is definitely a fabulous idea – especially when you there’s a reliable and trustworthy pet-sitter who’ll not charge you sky high for his or her services. If you can’t find a reliable pet-sitter, at least try to get a responsible house-sitter working in your neighborhood, as s/he will be able to drop by to take some care of your cats. But just one word of caution here… DO NOT let just anyone have access to your house or your cats!
Cat Boarding - Enlisting friends or family members
Now, here’s yet another fabulous idea! It’ll work best only for those who have somebody to this type of small favors. True, cats stay comfortable at your home. But, it is also true that they can manage to spend the time, when they have somebody to take care, who is already used to taking care of your cats. For instance, some people live in great neighborhood and the neighbors are so helpful that they watch the pets while the owner is out of town. But the catch here is that, you got to find someone who has a schedule sufficiently flexible to spend some time with your cats. Don’t bother with a friend who is very willing to help you out, has a full time schedule to deal with.
Using a local cat boarding facility
Taking cats to the nearby boarding is also another idea that makes sense. But the problem is, this is a pricey option for cat boarding. But, sometimes, taking those kitties out of their known comfort zone, has no other way around to it. But then again, the boarding facility might look like a weird place to your cats, where they’ll meet strange people.
A cat boarding facility is essentially a hotel for your cat while you're away. While there you can rest assured that your pet will be taken care of, well fed and watered, and will have toys and sometimes even tv to relax with. It's a good life! Sanitation, even veterinary services, your cat will have it all at a high quality kennel.
Still, despite the high costs of the boarding facilities, a lot of people used them as a viable cat boarding option. Here are a few reasons for that – first things first, you are getting to trust a boarding staff who are more or less trained to take care of the cats. And since the boarding facility is an institution, you can have it legally liable. So they’re more worried about the proper care and feeding of your loved cats. But that’s something you can’t expect that much with the typical pet-sitters. And the pet-sitters are not engaged in the caring of your pets 24/7. So, your loved cats are very much vulnerable to fire or other types of disasters.
